Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Set department / individual objectives for the team
  • Liaise with other departments / sites within the supply chain to ensure best practices are in place
  • Motivate and coach team for their own personnel development
  • Review / challenge current processes with aim for continuous improvement
  • Ensure all staff are trained in current job, cross trained where necessary
  • Ensure performance appraisals and salary reviews are carried out in a consistent and timely manner
  • Ensure all SOP’s are up to date and all staff are trained in them
  • Ensure manufactured requirements are completed through the ERP system in a timely and consistent manner
  • Ensure production schedules are in line with manufacturing capacity , communicated effectively and are in line with standard operating procedures
  • Ensure any changes to process or parameters are communicated to the supply side proactively
  • Monitor and action schedule changes , highlighting areas of concern
  • Support collection and development of TAT/OTD metrics
  • Ensure day to day focus on backorders , coaching team on root cause analysis and prevention
  • Lead weekly backorder review
  • When appropriate, escalate backorders issues to planning leader
  • Participate in Global operating mechanisms to improve supplier order fulfillment
  • Lead lifecycle management process to identify products with excess inventory, products approaching expiration, slow moving products, in order to optimize inventory, reduce backorders and scrap
  • Lead monthly reviews , coaching team on root cause analysis and prevention
  • Liaise with demand planning to ensure an understanding of the demand signal whilst proactively ensuring safety stocks reflect any change in demand patterns
  • Lead and participate in cross functional improvement projects
  • Lead and participate in new acquisition integration projects
  • Participate in operations site management team

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, or related field is required with 5+ years business experience.
  • MRP system experience is required, Supply chain and MRP/DRP systems knowledge is essential.
  • This role requires relevant experience within supply chain function
  • Supervisory skills and communication / interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with all level of employees both within the US and globally

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with SAP/JD Edwards E1
  • Experience in production planning
  • Supply chain expansion experience in support of growth
