The role is accountable for genotyping solutions in the human and agrigenomics domain. It is a growing business where Thermo Fisher Scientific offers a wide range of solutions to best fit customer needs. We are mainly responsible for accelerating the growth in a complex sales environment where expertise and specialization are required. Therefore project management skills, strategic thinking, planning and presenting and forecasting are key skills required. The candidate is also expected to focus on customer base expansion, map and lead pan European consortia in genotyping application fields like population studies and its downstream applications and in molecular breeding application, such as marker assisted breeding, genomic selection, parentage,…
As a Technical Sales Specialist for Genotyping you are responsible for creating, implementing, tracking and reporting performances of the sales plan, targets and forecasts.You are driving the company’s genotyping solutions by working with marketing and global business units and you will partner with local distributors and sales teams to identify and develop potential leads.
The role is home based in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

Additional responsibilities are:

  • Create and present weekly and quarterly regional forecasts
  • Direct the growth of business by capturing new accounts/business
  • Identify and nurture Key Opinion Leaders
  • Build relationships with customers to promote penetration, retention and loyalty
  • Generate, qualify and close sales leads
  • Prioritize projects and resources
  • Provide market intelligence that influences the strategic plan
  • Identify competitor activities and develop tactical activities
  • Coordinate with Marketing to deliver updates
  • Participate in process and operation improvement opportunities
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries
  • Comply with company quality management systems, policies and procedures

Your Qualification:
  • Master’s degree in Molecular Biology or related field
  • Experience in sales or sales management
  • Solid background in Genetics
  • Very good communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in German - written and spoken as well as very good English language skills
  • A PhD would be beneficial
