The Senior Manager, Security Engineering has key responsibilities within directing the operation of the Security Engineering group, and developing clear roles and responsibilities of team and team members. This role is a key part of ensuring documentation and processes are well defined so that the team mission, vision, and strategy are well understood by the team and the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the culture around the proper run & maintain support of the security tools used to protect, detect, and respond to security threats
  • Prioritize daily tasks for the engineering group
  • Greatly reduce risk of causing major incidents through engineering best practices
  • Ensure the efficient use of time across projects and maintenance activities with all engineer personnel
  • Identifies key areas for improvement in the technology used
  • Ensure tool effectiveness in terms of making sure it is running according to vendor specification, configuration, and deployment requirements
  • Build relationships with key IT leaders within the organization
  • Collaborate with appropriate staff across organization to achieve common goals
  • Drives the Change Management and the Change Control process as defined by ITIL into the engineering team
  • Ensure documentation and processes are well defined so that the engineered solutions are understood and repeatable
  • Ensure solutions are well built, backed up & restore tested, and consistently maintained
  • Proactively advise the business on how to maintain security posture
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership skills that help unite teams and drive productivity
  • Experience managing a technical team
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Assurance, Security, Management Information Systems, Risk Management or equivalent work experience acceptable
  • Relevant technical and/or security certificates a plus
  • 8+ years of cybersecurity or IT architecture/engineering experience
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent documentation skills are a must
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, leading security practices, and regulatory requirements
