IT Director, Clinical Diagnostics Division

Henningsdorf / Berlin, Germany or Vantaa, Finland

Position Summary:

The Director, Information Technology, manages the information systems function for a region within a division. S/he provides leadership to the IT team within the region and coordinate, develop, implement and support IT systems/platforms. Acts as a business partner to the division (Clinical Diagnostics – CDD) business unit leadership team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a key member of the BU leadership team for region
  • Establishes IT as a crtitical partner with the business functional leaders
  • Determines priorities based on business process needs and champions IT enabled business projects/programs with consensus
  • Develops future state IT organization focused on business transformation and process optimization
  • Enable continuous improvement with technology and systems in demand management, manufacturing, engineering, supplychain and finance
  • Partners with the Specialty Diagnostics Group IT VP and VP/GM of BU’s to translate business strategy and plans into an IT roadmap that meets the needs of the Clinical Diagnostics business while optimizing the technology investment across the division
  • Drives IT aspects of key business initiatives in regards to integration of new acquisitions, ERP platforms, regulatory improvements and other projects as they become prioritized
  • Works with shared services and local IT development teams to provide leadership in the implementation and support of company approved application systems
  • Develops yearly IT budgets and assures the schedules met
  • Complies with company’s Global IT Policies & Procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with experience in information technology and a functional discipline of sales operations, customer service, manufacturing and supply chain or finance
  • Experience in a continuous improvement environment with a track record of delivering sustainable business results
  • Experience in an FDA regulated business and GMP is highly preferred
  • Significant knowledge and exoerience in SAP is necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and gain trust of senior leadership
  • Ability to quickly understand the business need and to translatethis to actionable IT solutions
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization, business and leveraging shared services
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding capacity to make decisions or recommendations
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Strong project management skills and understanding of project management lifecycle
  • Ability to successfully lead projects to completion on time and within budget
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with analytical skills
  • Strong relationship building skills

Required Demonstrable Experience:

  • Broad business process experience in a mnaufcaturing environment in a life science or FDA regulated environment
  • 5 to 10 years experience as an IT manager and leading team in business transformation
  • Strong attention to detail and SAP experience
