The Thermo Fisher Scientific HPLC business has been setting decisive and innovative trends for many years in the development, manufacturing and marketing of instruments and software for High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The expertise of our highly qualified staff contributes significantly to our economic success, enabling us to continuously expand our site in Germering near Munich.

For the support of our Team we are searching for a

Partner & Business Development Manager (f/m)

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake Business Development activities for the CMD Software organization, which includes the activities for the former LSMS software group and former ICS software group.
  • Successfully establish and manage a global set of internal and external CMD Software business partners. Partnerships will range from basic co-marketing activities over value-add resellers to (driver and add-on) development activities.
  • Develop business concept for partner network with a special emphasis on creating an approach for 3rd party driver development both for major suppliers (and competitors) and small to midsize value-add development partners with minimum impact on the core Chromeleon development activities. Establish a 3-year roadmap for 3rd party drivers in Chromeleon.
  • Ensure alignment of driver and add-on priorities with product management.
  • Develop development partner support concept and ensure alignment of concept with capacities R&D and technical support. Raise conflicts to business leadership team.
  • Be the primary point of contact for technical and business questions from partners. Be the primary contact and owner for creation of legally binding contracts and partner agreements.
  • Provide project management, including analysis, in support of new business initiatives
  • Coordinating the STRAP deployment process for the BU with the relevant functions
  • Coordinating strategic BU projects, where appropriate, using the PPI Business System
  • Coordinating KPI Leadership adoption for CMD SW
    • This includes pro-actively assisting departments in the adoption and provide consultancy for improvements of their processes
  • Interact with Finance and Sales: analyze which products create revenue in which market and customer segments and regions; derive strategy for sales teams.
  • Develop strategic prioritization matrix for Product Management (for example based on input from support, market information, revenue implications, STRAP etc.)
  • Communicate strategy within BU.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Your Background
  • University (masters or higher) degree in relevant computer or technical sciences or at least 10 years of practical experience in relevant positions in sales, marketing, business development or product management.
  • Beneficial: Business degree in economy or practical business development experiences
  • Fluency in English language
  • Beneficial: Fluency in German language
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills
  • High degree of personal initiative and self-management.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Chromatography Data Systems
