Job Description

The primary duties of this position is driving improved data integrity in the areas of EDI, pricing, and quarter end backorder expediting resulting in improved efficiencies and improved Customer Appreciation Scores. In performing the primary duties, the Sales Support Analyst exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to activity based problem resolutions. A majority of the time, this role will be making decisions around prioritizing issue resolution tasks and working with the various functional areas and customers to resolve issues. Additionally, the Sales Support Analyst will participate as a key team member to conduct root cause analysis of repeating issues and work with the functional areas on Kaizen project teams improve processes and find permanent solutions to these issues.

As time permits, the Sales Support Analyst position will support HMD revenue growth through assisting in the implementation of share of market and share of wallet wins. This assistance will be in the areas of product conversion and process monitoring and control.

This role will perform work that requires knowledge of the Healthcare Market Division’s data management system, sales processes and other internal processes involving Customer Service, Finance, Pricing and other areas. The Sales Support Analyst partners with the Business Solutions Managers for Implementation and EDI to enable the sales team to maintain customer loyalty, improve customer satisfaction, improve sales productivity, support key business initiatives, and enable achievement of sales targets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • EDI Data Accuracy
  • Process daily EDI kick outs for all districts while maintaining a record in salesforce.com via cases.
  • Analyze data monthly identifying reasons for kick outs and identifying the contributing customers reporting results to HMD Sales Operations.
  • Develop root cause analysis and develop, with Sr. Manager, Operational Effectiveness, proper steps for executing resolution.
  • Work directly with customers, at the direction of Business Solutions Manager-EDI, to effectively correct uploaded pricing and product files.
  • Be knowledgeable of overall EDI system understanding in detail how all transaction types, i.e. 810, 855, 856, 857, etc. work and their effect on the customer and Fisher systems.
  • Pricing Accuracy
  • Analyze RGA pricing errors monthly determining customers with the greatest number of errors and their contributing factors submitting reports to Sales Operation management.
  • Develop root cause analysis and develop, with Sr. Manager, Operational Effectiveness, proper steps for executing resolution.
  • Have the ability to utilize Cognos and Excel macros to develop contract model pricing comparisons.
  • In conjunction with Sales Support Team Lead/HSE, Gov’t, and Corp Account SSR, assist with price audits for GPO’s and IDN’s to increase the potential for increased pricing accuracy and root cause development.
  • Utilize the RGA Upload tool for effective and timely process of mass credits.
  • Assist in the implementation of share of market and share of wallet wins through product conversion and process control activities.


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business or equivalent years of experience required.
  • 2+ years of Customer or Sales support experience.
  • Excellent organizational/team work skills.
  • Previous experience with mainframe and/or database systems.
  • Previous experience with AMPS.
  • Previous exposure to Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
  • This Role operates within a Matrix environment requiring the post holder to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, to manage both competing requirements and concurrent project activity.
  • Strong project, time and stakeholder management competency is therefore essential to maintain several priorities and meet established deadlines.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Ability to communicate with business partners in a professional manner in verbal and written mode.
  • Must possess computer proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must have working knowledge of Cognos or other business intelligence tool.
  • Ability to initiate, prioritize, and self-direct workload.
  • Strong orientation to accuracy and detail.
