Job Title: SAP Business Analyst, Information Technology – Finance and Operations

Location: Basingstoke (Hampshire)

Position Summary:

The Business Analyst, Information Technology- Finance and Operations, partners with business unit leaders to drive growth and productivity through the exploitation of IT with a focus on SAP. S/he partners with the different business leaders to prioritize business initiatives, diagnose business problems and provide guidance on the best ways to leverage IT to further their business goals. The role also represents the business towards the IT shared service groups. The shared service groups deliver IT projects, enhancements and changes as defined by the business analyst.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acts as an IT business partner for the divisional business unit leadership teams within the finance and operations functions. The IT business partner understands the business and IT strategies providing input to both business and IT leadership thinking and priority management.
  • Determines priorities based on business needs and champions/manages IT focused business programs, projects and enhancements with the shared services.
  • Partners with the Microbiology Global Director of IT and other SAP Business Analysts to translate business strategy and plans into an IT roadmap that meets the needs of the Microbiology business while optimizing the technology investment.
  • Drives IT aspects of key business initiatives including integration of new acquisitions, process optimzation, regulatory improvements/requirements and other projects as they become prioritized.
  • Works with Shared Services and local IT development teams to provide leadership in the implementation of company approved enterprise systems, application software, enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Develops future state organization focused on business transformation and process optimization.
  • Assures budgets and schedules are met.
  • Complies with company’s Global IT Policies & Procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with experience in Information Technology and a functional discipline covering SAP Finance and Logistics modules with particular reference to manufacturing operations.
  • Significant experience working with a manufacturing business using SAP Finance and Logistics including roles on SAP projects and/or operating as an SAP super user/subject matter expert.
  • Working knowledge of ABAP, able to explain basic ABAP statements and debug bespoke code.
  • Ability to quickly understand the business needs/requirements and to translate this to actionable IT solutions. Qualifications/completed courses in requirements gathering a plus.
  • Effective negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Proven project management skills and understanding of the benefits that a standard project management lifecycle can deliver.
  • Demonstrable written and verbal communication skills in both a business context and an IT context.
  • Well developed analytical skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Capable of self starting and pro-actively driving activities to closure.

    Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
  • Broad finance and operational experience in a large company environment with a deep understanding of IT and specifically SAP Logistics and Finance modules as they relate to manufacturing processes.
  • Extensive SAP experience within finance and logistics modules including roles on SAP projects and/or operations as an SAP super user/subject matter expert.
