  • Manage over half a million requests per second and storing multi TB of data every single day.
  • Handle engineering-wide efforts that include our real time bidding systems, data pipeline and infrastructure.
  • Manage improvements in capacity limits and environment efficiencies.
  • Optimize AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement application & infrastructure changes that will affect the bottom line of the technology cost, and will drive {Eyeview} for better use of AWS cloud.
  • Conduct reporting, monitoring & alerting with tools for AWS cloud usage & cost.
  • Develop cloud infrastructure improvements in collaboration with cloud architecture
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering teams.
  • Work directly with architecture and delivery teams to implement technology wide optimizations.
  • Work on design for high availability, cost efficient, and scalable compute systems.
  • Review events for patterns and address their root cause.
  • Collaborate with technicians on optimizing cloud infrastructure for plannning and implementing improvements.
  • Technical background and costing capabilities in utilizing the AWS cost effective and optimization methods like S3 RRS storage, EC2 spot instances, implementing CDN, configuring Autoscalling etc.
  • Understand capacity and utilization metrics and analysis to develop Cloud ROI
  • Improve velocity and lower ongoing development / operating costs by managing requests for new applications and technology and leveraging deployment of existing strategic solutions.
  • Understand the model of AWS credits and discounts and utilize them in the present landscape.

  • CloudWatch and CloudTrail to monitor and alert on resource usage pattern
  • AWS Config
  • Understanding of CLOUD'S ROI
  • Working knowledge: EC2, S3, Kinesis, Redshift, Spark, Aerospike, DynamoDB, RDS, Solr.
  • Generic cloud management and optimizations tools available in the market like Cloudability, Cloudyn, Cloud Cruiser, Newvem, enStratus, RightScale, BMC, CA, HP, IBM, ServiceMesh, VMware IT Business Management Suite etc.

Education
  • 4-year degree with major in computer science engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university (preferred). Will substitute or minimum 2-3 years experience professional IT experience.

Certifications
  • Azure Certification 533 - (required)
  • AWS SysOps certification OR Azure Infrastructure Implementation 533 - (required)
  • AWS Solution Architect certification (associate) - (desired)
  • AWS DevOps certification - (desired)
Experience
  • Experience designing and developing highly available, scalable, fault-tolerant and disaster recoverable enterprise grade and web-scale software platforms and deployments.
  • Experience analyzing usage, cost, patterns and best practices.
  • Experience implementing application & infrastructure changes that will affect the bottom line of the technology cost.
  • Experience developing reporting, monitoring & alerting tools for AWS cloud usage & cost.
  • Experience developing cloud infrastructure improvements.
  • Experience implementing technology wide optimizations.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging and cost management tools that integrate with AWS.
  • Experience with highly available, cost efficient, and scalable compute systems.
  • Experience reviewing events for patterns and address their root cause.
  • Experience tracking Reserved Capacity Usage.
  • Experience managing requests for new applications and technology and leveraging deployment of existing strategic solutions.
  • Experience with robust service management for mission critical applications, incident management during outage periods, and work/coordinate with various technical and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience helping team members provide indicident resolution summary to management.
  • Experience documenting the root cause analysis.
  • Experience providing permanent solutions and long term benefits to workarounds provided by operations teams.
  • Experience in instrastructure operations and resource management to optimize their service ability.
  • Experience in utilizing the AWS cost effective and optimization methods like S3 RRS storage, EC2 spot instances, implementing CDN, configuring Autoscalling etc.
  • Deep experience in instrastructure operations and resource management to optimize their service ability.
  • Knowledge of SLAS - ability to work on tickets based on priority base so that they won't lead to SLA breach.
  • Knowledge of ticketing tools utilized by Thermo Fisher.
  • Working knowledge of technologies: EC2, S3, Kinesis, Redshift, Spark, Aerospike, DynamoDB, RDS, Solr.
  • Advanced level knowledge of troubleshooting and deep diving into issues until resolution is reached.
