How Will You Make an Impact?

You will provide purchasing leadership for $100M+ of annual spend for direct materials for the Pharmaceutical Services Group Global Contract Manufacturing (CMO) network, Pharmaceutical Development Services and other divisions as required to maximize leverage of our spend base

What will you do?

  • Drive savings initiatives to achieve financial performance targets.
  • Work closely with operational (site) purchasing groups globally to identify improvement opportunities, complete sourcing initiatives, and implement best practices and set savings goals.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of categories, suppliers and product cost drivers, generate understanding of global / regional demands and sourcing constraints,
  • Run sourcing projects & events, negotiate and execute “Preferred” Corporate Supply Agreements based on concept of Total Cost of Ownership principles.
  • Define, establish and maintain senior executive relationships (e.g., CxO, SVP, VP level) at core and/or critical RM suppliers. Broker relationships as appropriate with the groups CMO, CPO and head of Quality.
  • Develop, lead and execute strategies to ensure effective supplier management, quality, service, cost effectiveness, reliability and stability of the groups in-bound Supply Chain.
  • Ensure that a global view of Raw Materials is developed, managed and executed as part of one unified group.
  • Partner with key internal functions (e.g., Quality, CMO, PDS) to ensure supplier performance and vendor management criteria are meeting the full needs of the business
  • Optimize KPIs, measurement and reporting of vendors and in-bound supply (e.g., supplier: on-time delivery, quality, cost effectiveness; site purchasing effectiveness) to proactively influence the enterprise's purchasing behaviors to achieve corporate objectives
  • This position requires the ability to travel globally, 40% on an annual basis.

How will you get there?


Education
  • BS Degree in related field.

Experience
  • 10 or more years of related experience.
  • Senior level procurement experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or manufacturing sector
  • Senior level negotiating skills and executive level experience working at senior levels with vendors.
  • Oversight of a spend base of at least $100M USD
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) across a broad spectrum: from detailed technical to executive level     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • CPM and/or CPIM certification
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERPs, experience with eProcurment an added plus
  • Strong Project Management Skills
  • Management Consulting Experience
  • Cross industry experience is a plus
