Position Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting Tariff Classification and coding of all Third Party new products as requested by the Program Manager and Customer Service including following the nomenclature of the “Customs Tariff” along with GIR (General Interpretive Rules), explanatory notes, D-memorandum and all Legislation pertaining to importation into Canada.
Ensure all new CFIA suppliers must have a complete CFIA review, broker profile and SOP updated with carriers to not clear as CSA.
Perform daily ”New Item Maintenance Inquiry (NIMI)”, Fisher Special Third Party Purchase (FSTP) classifications.
Maintain “Origin” criteria in Fisher Master File.
Address discrepancies with suppliers with respect to inbound paperwork. Create SOPs as required.
Responsible for Regulatory review and coding of all low risk Third Party New Items.
Manages and expedites a weekly customer backorder report and proactively expedites open orders to ensure goods are being delivery as expected and communication of changes are sent to the customers.
Manages the daily new item sourcing request forms generated by Customer Service and Commercial team.
Supports the Program Manager on process improvement projects when required.
Supports the Annual Price Roll process for all Canadian Third Party Suppliers.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Two year Customs Administration diploma from College preferred.
Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) Designation is a requirement
Strong knowledge of customs rules, regulations, tariffs and explanatory notes
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook)
Demonstrated customer service and analytical skills.
Strong knowledge of courier industry in Canada
Detail-oriented with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience liaising with Third party Suppliers
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to function independently
Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced, changing work environment
