Job Description

Position Summary:

The Marketing Specialist position is responsible for partnering with the Segment Marketing Manager and key stakeholders to implement segment-focused commercial marketing solutions to achieve commercial goal attainment within the Research and Safety Division. This position will work as part of the Campaign Strategy and Planning team to plan and manage tactical campaigns and commercial marketing deliverables. The Marketing Specialist will leverage the strategic input of the Segment Marketing Manager as well as best practices and past program/campaign performance. Critical thinking, strong project management and communication skills are required to operate independently in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on commercial marketing goals through development of integrated strategic campaigns, that are sound from an execution perspective, across traditional and digital marketing channels
  • Build effective partnerships with key marketing stakeholders including Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics & Insights and Marketing Services
  • Responsible for management of campaign plans and tactics from submission of work orders, through reviews and routing to completion
  • Facilitate activities associated with executing share of wallet growth initiatives and implementation of new business development strategies including collaboration with Finance, IT and other functions in the business
  • Responsible for documentation of initiatives and campaigns, including calendars/trackers, overviews, proof of performance and tactical metrics reporting
  • Assess campaign results and performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare and deliver campaign and initiative plans and results for key meetings including, but not limited to MBRs/QBRs, Commercial calls, regional meetings, category/segment/supplier meetings, etc.
  • Support Senior Manager, Campaign Strategy & Planning in partnering with marketing business stakeholders for AOP development
  • Understand brand standards and ensure consistent look and feel across campaigns and channels

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, marketing, communications, business or related area
  • 3-5 years Marketing experience focused on developing customer communications, campaigns, and promotions; or a combination of 3-5 years Marketing experience and Fisher Scientific Sales experience with strong project management skills (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Ability to function in a complex, matrix business environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong communication, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Self-directed and highly effective at driving deliverables to completion
  • Experience and/or understanding of scientific or laboratory products (consumables, equipment, etc.) preferred

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, marketing, communications, business or related area and 3-5 years marketing experience focused on developing customer communications, campaigns, and plans or a mix of marketing experience and Fisher Scientific Sales experience with strong project management skills (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Ability to function in a complex, matrix business environment
  • In depth understanding of MS Office, Power Point and Excel applications
