Job Description

The Rebate Specialist is a unique, action-oriented position that partners with the Commercial, Pricing Operations, and Finance teams as well as with Customer Channel Group suppliers. The individual's primary focus is to drive profitable growth through customer pricing rebate opportunities, utilizing sound analytics, strategic thinking and thoughtful negotiations.

Position Summary:

  • Primary function will be to negotiate with identified supplier for securing new/improved rebates
  • Individual will drive discussions with Sales reps to set the strategy for supplier negotiations
  • Individual will lead discussions with our supplier representatives and will be responsible for constant monitoring and follow-up of the opportunity
  • Individual will be responsible for tracking and maintaining the results of all negotiations, keeping an up-to-date status on all opportunities
  • Individual will support the development and refinement of tools, policies, and procedures that enhance existing performance
  • Perform ad hoc data analysis to support rebate and other pricing analysis

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelors degree in related business field
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in sales, pricing/rebate or operational role
  • Experience with MS Excel and MS Access
  • Individual has to be highly motivated to succeed and able to get past barriers
  • Experience in dealing with & negotiating with Sales professionals and suppliers
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver
  • Individual must be able to maintain, track and follow-up on multiple opportunities at once
  • Relates well to all personality types inside and outside the organization
  • Builds appropriate rapport and uses diplomacy and tact
  • Knows and understands the portfolio of products distributed by Thermo Fisher Scientific
