Summary of Internship
Using visualization data analysis software, the Product Management Intern will be responsible for developing a mechanism for reporting on sales data on a periodic basis. In addition he/she will also develop higher level assessments within cell culture portfolio but also in conjunction with other systems such as Salesforce.com to develop a 360 degree view of business performance and health.
Following analysis mechanisms are desired at the end of this internship:
Evaluate business health Identify product lines or products that show signs of poor health Have a common dashboard for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual business reviews Use sales data as an input to product life-cycle decisions – obsolescence, product line extensions, NPIs Analyze not only the revenue but also the volume of products sold Tie in open orders and forecasts with closed sales to assess business performance and make proactive decisions Stretch goal: Combine cross business-unit data to develop leads for business growth.
Candidate must be able to work independently with direction, within the Cell Culture Product Management Team. He/she will learn the data and metrics needed for making important product line decisions and will be given exposure to the new product development process. The candidate will receive ongoing mentorship in his/her project as well as a view of two major aspects of Product Management: new product development and product life cycle management.
- Intermediate-advanced skill at MS Excel, especially pivot tables.
- Knowledge of Tableau a plus.
- Currently enrolled in an MBA program or a Master’s program in data sciences.
- Accuracy and attention to detail is required in performing all functions of this position.
- Initiative, organizational and computer skills are extremely valuable
- Must demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal customers.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills are required.
