Thermo Fisher Scientific offers Human Resources assignments to students majoring in Business, Organizational Leadership, Human Resources and other general studies majors in an accredited program. We consider students with business competence as well as their ability to work as team members within the Human Resources team. Training is on-the-job with experienced supervision and support.Work assignments commonly incorporate some entry-level work with guidance given for first-time experiences. Work assignments increase in responsibility, complexity, and challenge.
Students will be exposed to all aspects of Human Resources work including organizational development and design, benefits and compensation, recruitment from sourcing to offer stage and on-boarding, employee relations, performance management, talent management, recognition and rewards and community service/philanthropy projects. By using the established HRIS systems, the student will also gain exposure to the importance of accuracy in data management and reporting. The work schedule is part-time with flexible hours to accommodate the student’s academic schedule during the school year. Students are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. A potential for full-time employment also exists during periods when classes are not in session.
