Job Description


Provides leadership and support to warehousing staff. Responsible for all aspects of supervising the team including hiring, performance reviews, goal setting, measuring objectives, teaching, coaching, teaching, coaching, training, and workload prioritization. Ensures proper handling and warehousing of all Raw & Package materials maintained at primary material warehouse. Possesses a full working knowledge of the warehouse area, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety rules and operation efficiencies while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions:

Oversees warehouse staff and provides guidance/support on a regular basis by providing feedback, tracking performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), escalating issues to the Manager as needed, approving payroll/time-off requests, supporting client visits and auditing the facility/SAP on a routine basis to ensure accuracy of data/storage of materials.

Enforces proper storage conditions for all materials/facility.

Completes tasks involved with the receipt and storage of materials at the primary warehouse which includes dealing with carriers, unloading incoming materials, verifying accuracy of incoming materials vs. purchase order and noting damage and/or shortages, staging materials in appropriate areas allowing easy access for sampling and maintaining a neat and orderly storage to meet housekeeping and material storage requirements..

Supports manufacturing and sampling needs which includes picking, organizing and loading materials as well as coordinating shuttles between various receiving docks.

Responsible for the proper maintenance of items in SAP and area reports including records receipt of transfers and movements of materials at the primary warehouse; maintaining warehouse fields for materials, troubleshooting SAP transaction problems with other associates in the warehouse and maintaining monthly volume reports.

Works with other groups such as Purchasing/Planning on SAP orders or vendor issues, Packaging & Manufacturing Support associates on material request issues and the Warehouse Coordinator on carrier or damage issues.

Completes training and area improvement tasks by training new and existing associates, attending training meetings and troubleshooting equipment issues and offering problem solving advice for material handling issues.

Selects, develops and evaluates staff to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Works with and advises staff on administrative policies and procedures.

Job Scope:

Provides tactical direction and immediate supervision to a group of employees by assigning tasks, checking work, and maintaining schedules.


Provides direct supervision and may assist with the work as demands dictate.


High school or GED


Five years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.


Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.



• Knowledge of DEA, FDA and GMP and Safety regulations

• Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices

• Knowledge of DEA, FDA and GMP and Safety regulations

• Certification for Hazardous Materials Handling (49CFR)

• Ability to multi-task, meeting tight deadlines in a fast paced environment

• Strong accuracy and attention to detail

• Must be able to work with limited supervision

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

• Documentation and communication skills (verbal/written)

• Willing to work overtime to accommodate demands

• Demonstrated commitment to our fundamental principles of Integrity, Respect and Excellence


• Trade school or other post secondary education

• Computer skills an asset specifically SAP and Microsoft Office applications

Physical Requirements:

Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver up to 100 pounds. Must have visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time.
