Job Description


Plans and schedules all area specific maintenance craftwork assignments utilizing all capabilities of the computerized maintenance management system. Coordinates, plans and schedules maintenance activities using available internal and external resources. Plans across craft lines or for multiple craft lines.

Essential Functions:

Develops a job plan for each maintenance work assignment after reviewing authorized and prioritized work notifications.

Reviews each work notification to ensure all critical items have been identified.

Maintains responsibility for field check and/or field order if required to clarify work request and to identify all job steps.

Identifies required material or parts list required to complete work request.Maintains responsibility for material procurement and storage until job activity is ready to proceed.

Identifies all specifications, safety and regulatory requirements to perform maintenance activity.

Maintains active backlog for jobs that need to be scheduled.

Utilizes backlog list, schedules all maintenance job activities per priorities.

Maintains daily and generate weekly work schedule.

Issues purchase requisitions to obtain outside labor and materials.

Manages small construction projects and outside contracts.

Works in a safe and responsible manner in order to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace.

Complies with all job-related safety and other training requirements.

Uses Document Management System and Change Control procedures proficiently.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree in a techincal field with the major concentration in Engineering Technology is preferred.


Two years experience in industrial maintenance and construction, planning and scheduling is preferred.


Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.


Ability to work in a fast paced environment under pressure, able to multi-task and is results-oriented. Abilitiy to develop sketches or field orders from field observations. Analyze maintenance problems and devlop corrective actions in a timely manner. Ability to work with and lead outside vendors and contractors to perform maintenance task. Manage small construction projects. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (preferred CADD operator experience). Scheduling using a maintenance management system. Effective time management and prioritization skills. Requires discretion and independent judgment. Very high degree of interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public, including tact to handle sensitive matters.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 25-50 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
