Performs utility operator functions including cleaning plastic totes, hoppers, cone in cones, containers, and granulation/compressing/coating miscellaneous parts/ancillary equipment (swecos, fitzmills, screens, etc.). Also performs material handling duties including and moving finished product through warehouse airlock and into bulk storage areas for packaging; moving batches and associated materials to proper staging areas; placing bulk material for compression on mezzanine; removing empty hoppers, bins, cone-n-cones from compressing mezzanine for cleaning; staging equipment and various components for processing; maintaining flow of product and material to keep hallways clear. Performs cleaning and set-up tasks as required, including periodic mopping and wipe down of granulation/compressing/coating common areas. Must use basic hand tools. Maintains accurate, neat, error free records such as BPR and logbook entries. Follows SOP's and GMPs. Monitors operations for deviations or quality problems. Maintains neat work area and follows department safety rules. Identifies safety, quality, and efficiency improvements. Operates fork truck and In-Bin washing machine. Performs duties in other work areas as required including operation of dry products laundry, delivery/collection of laundry, movement of raw materials or staged batches. Keeps airlock clear during the shift. Performs purified water tap daily flushes and department eye wash flushes. Actively participates in Patheon Advantage projects. Works and communicates well with a diverse group of associates.
Mechanical aptitude. Able to handle and flip totes up to 70 Kg and lift containers up to 22 Kg. Job may require wearing of personal protective equipment including Tyvek coveralls and various styles of respirators. Fork truck license will be required.
