Position Overview
The Warehouse Manager is a strategic partner in operations with responsibility for leading the site’s warehousing operations to achieve required business results. The Warehouse Manager ensures products in the Warehouse are distributed with the highest level of quality in a safe and timely manner that will meet or exceed customer expectations. The position is responsible for all Warehouse functions and employees including the Supervisor, Value Stream Leader, Inventory Team Member and Warehouse Team Member positions. The Warehouse Manager is directly responsible for overall performance of the Warehouse including safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. This position and the Warehouse performs as liaison and relationship builder to internal customers to create value across the organization that focuses on improving the external customer experience to drive customer allegiance.

How will you make an impact?
The Warehouse Manager provides leadership guidance that enables the Warehouse to achieve customer focused and financial goals while driving the implementation of PPI-Lean Enterprise and is the Lean Manufacturing resource responsible for eliminating waste and improving flow throughout the Warehouse.

What will you do?
  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Respond to customers' or shippers' questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services.
  • Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
  • Performs all job duties in a safe manner, consistent with the Code of Ethics and the 4-I Values, and follows all ISO standards.
How will you get here?
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field preferred.An advanced degree such as an MBA is a plus.High School education with equivalent applicable work experience may be substituted.

Experience
  • Five plus years working experience in a warehouse or similar environment with leadership experience.
  • Possess a solid working knowledge of other business functions such as Logistics, Finance, Sales, Engineering, and Human Resources in addition to Manufacturing and Quality.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SAP experience desirable.
  • Ability to travel as required, <10% of the time.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
  • Knowledge, experience or training in Lean techniques and proficient in process auditing.
  • Possess technical engineering aptitude to understand advanced level of product line knowledge.
  • Possess a continuous process improvement mindset with the ability to effectively lead and manage change.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Working conditions require the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and work at a computer station and on manufacturing shop floor.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs; occasionally lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
