Job Title: Corporate Communications Intern – Pharma Services

The objective of this position is to support the corporate communications team. The corporate communications team at Pharma Services, Thermo Fisher Scientific oversees communications, including external (media relations), thought leadership, and internal communications. This is an opportunity to learn from an experienced team and contribute to their success. The intern will provide analytical, administrative and other professional level support.

Essential Functions:

  • Passionate about external and internal corporate communications
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Familiarity with AP style guide and news writing style
  • Interested in joining the pharmaceutical industry
  • Able to work around 20-30 hours per week
  • Able to do some research, website and social media administrator
  • Other activities as required
  • Computer savvy with experience dealing with Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook); SharePoint


Must be enrolled as a communications, journalism or publications major in junior or senior year

and maintain GPA of 3.0 or higher.


1+ years of experience in an administrative/coordination work environment required, some experience in corporate communications preferred.


Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-35 pound pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
