Job Title: Laboratory Assistant – Co-op Student
Prepares raw data packages for clients. Collects data and prepares department performance metrics. Assists chemists with solution preparation, waste disposal and laboratory organization efforts. Ensures that all work is done in accordane with Patheon Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). May perform additional administrative or laboratory support duties as required.
Prepares and collates raw data packages for client review, which involves photocopying of relevant notebook pages and sourcing of reports from Empower and or NuGenesis databases. Collects and summarizes data and prepares graphs (Excel) regarding department performance metrics. Assists with laboratory improvement and organization efforts. Assists with solution preparation and waste disposal. Performs other administrative or laboratory duties as required supporting laboratory operations.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a scientific environment, an asset
Good interpersonal skills
Responsible, reliable and good team player
Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel)
Proficiency with the English language

Light physical effort and fatigue. Walks, sits or stands for limited periods. May require occasional equipment operation including keyboard equipment. Lifts light items for limited duration.
Regular need to attend to and decipher sensory input that requires diligence and attention to interpret effectively.
Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and of short duration.
There is frequent pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy and similar demands. Or, they may be unpleasant interpersonal contacts and concern about possible unpleasant situations.
