Job Description

Position Summary:

The Sr. Finance Manager Global Process Owner will be dedicated to scaling internal processes to enable Finance employees to do their job efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative solutions to automate and scale business systems & processes
    • Own forecast process, identifying and executing opportunities to simplify the process; establish metrics to track accuracy
    • Streamline alignment between Electron Microscopy and the Thermo Fisher country model to maximize strengths of both division and country teams
    • Optimize system user experience through focused user trainings (new and advanced users) and continual system maintenance
    • Establish process to forecast and track impact of fluctuations in foreign exchange rates
  • Manage, prioritize and deliver multiple initiatives in partnership with cross-functional teams
    • Leverage partnerships across all levels of the finance organization to identify & prioritize opportunities for process improvement
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to create the project's scope definition, work effort estimate, business requirements document
    • Manage project activities across the entire project life cycle and provide status of project commitments to key stakeholders including communication with senior leadership
    • Exhibit a broad based knowledge and understanding of process across a wide range of functions within the division and beyond
    • Present well thought out solutions to complex problems
    • Develop corrective action plans for areas that have process deficiencies
  • Enhance analysis/tools to provide executive management with clear insights into drivers of business growth, risks, and opportunities
  • Support finance integration processes and system transitions
  • Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in financial analysis or financial/strategic planning
  • Passion for driving business improvement and leading change in a large, complex, global environment
  • Excellent system skills, including the ability to maintain & enhance systems (EPM and Hyperion/Essbase preferred)
  • Self-motivated with high bias for action and accountability
  • Proven track record to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities, and work under pressure
