How will you make an impact?
The Associate Director of Marketing works in close coordination with the Director of Marketing, the Physician Segment Marketing Team and Global Marketing Team to create and articulate successful implementation of the marketing strategies and programs to broaden the horizons of the organization. This role is ultimately responsible for the annual growth number and development of the Allergy and Asthma business lines. Focused and informed on all things related to the clinical business, demand generation and education of consumer/physician segments.

The person in this role may be based anywhere in the continental United States which is near a major travel hub. Travel expectation is up to 60%, including both domestic and international.

What will you do?
  • Design and implement the marketing plans and support in their subsequent development and execution
  • Manage, collate and report to leadership on all sales related compliance metrics to include, but not limited to; sales / customer related expensed interactions, proper use of labeling / regulatory product language and responding to audit/regulatory bodies governing medical vendor relationships with HCPs
  • Plan and execute annual personnel and project budgets
  • Builds successful working relationships and effectively manages the interface with a variety of key third party agency staffers and suppliers
  • Maintain CMR level data related to; client information, funnel development, financial reports and other relevant marketing data
  • Be actively involved in the hiring and training Marketing team of professionals

The Associate Director will implement new strategies to achieve the goals of the marketing units, thereby enabling growth of business, specifically the development of the Allergy/Asthma Annual Operating Plan to support IDD US growth. This role is key in identifying market opportunities and devising strategies and tactics to assure successful sales operations. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Participate in developing and refining product messages and materials via the Digital Experience
  • Identify and articulate training and development needs and works closely with Sales Management and Training Teams to maximize usage of resources
  • Provides primary support for field sales team in implementing physician office-based initiatives
  • Participates in the annual planning process for the allergy franchise
  • Owns and executes annual sales meetings (National and Summer meetings)
  • Communicates with allergy specialists and thought leaders
  • Co-travels with various colleagues in the field to keep current on the changing market place
  • Tracks and reports changes in the medical and marketing environment as relevant to the objectives of the organization
  • Plans, implements, and measures outcomes/ROI for a variety of programming initiatives
  • Manages support staff, seeing to their involvement in activities requisite to their day-to-day job success and longer term development;
  • Ensures that every marketing project meets all regulatory compliance policy requirements;
  • Aligns the scope and implementation of strategic initiatives within the approved marketing budget; evaluates with respect to short- and long-term plan goals, making recommendations to line management as necessary if changes in funding allocation are deemed necessary.
  • Effectively manages allergy team projects, exercises sound decision-making, and successfully communicates revisions and/or changes to projects/programs to the US Leadership Team
  • Effectively provides expert advice/counsel as the allergy point person between multiple groups (digital marketing, demand generation, lab sales, national accounts, regulatory, global marketing and the US Leadership Team).

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor’s degree required, marketing or a scientific discipline preferred;
  • MBA highly desirable
  • Minimum of 3 years (5 years preferred) marketing experience in the healthcare industry, particularly in diagnostics, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals
  • 5 years of commercial leadership experience leading a sales or marketing team.
  • Demonstrated success in development and implementation of commercial strategies and tactics
  • Minimum of three years marketing or sales with HCP-focused promotion

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Exposure to the execution of primary market research
  • Collaboration with sales training (needs assessment, curriculum development, training delivery)
  • Comfortable working with agency partners: advertising/media, medical education, publications
  • Cross-functional leadership experience and the ability to influence stakeholders while driving consensus.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently navigate internal approval process in developing and launching promotional materials in a regulated environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, ranging from motivating sales teams to engaging with scientific thought leaders
  • The ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment;
