How will you make an impact?
This position will function as the technical lead of an operations team responsible for cell-based products and services. As a member of the cellular team this individual will be expected to apply a strong understanding of molecular biology and technical knowledge to provide significant contribution to business execution, strategic direction, and continuous improvement. The position will also be expected to perform assay screening of small molecules provided by customers against a portfolio of fluorescence-based cellular assays. The position requires a high degree of critical thinking and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize accordingly.

What will you do?

  • Conduct cell-based screening assays. Follow approved protocols to screen customer compounds and analyze data using data analysis templates. Identify any inconsistencies in results and conduct root cause analysis to determine the reasons for misalignment and create methods to reduce recurrence.
  • Demonstrate leadership by presenting a solution-minded approach to solving complex problems. Apply critical thinking to design and execute cell-based custom protocols. Use thought leadership to conceptualize and conduct assay protocols in order to deliver high-quality data to customers.
  • Consistently act as a role model through positive and productive influence. Maintain a high degree of professionalism through internal and external customer interaction. Collaborate within cross-functional teams and with customers to drive new service initiatives, supporting customer collaborations, and coordinating the execution of service projects.
  • Support cell-based product manufacturing through problem solving and development of innovative solutions.
  • An ability to work independently and prioritize accordingly to achieve tasks. Exhibit good time management skills to manage multiple projects across numerous technologies ensuring project completion within the allotted timeframe.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to enhance and execute on process development.
  • Maintain documentation including manufacturing batch records, writing SOPs, and updating existing documents as processes change. Initiate document control process for major changes and use reporting processes for CAPA/root cause analysis.
  • Prepare lab reagents to be used in the screening, provisioning, and MFG work (i.e. uncommon media preps, controlled substances)
  • Maintain, track, and order inventory for assay components using internal databases as well as physical inventories to ensure reagents are available for use.

How will you get here?

Education

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related discipline, or the equivalent knowledge and experience

Experience

  • Requires a minimum of 2+ years with a Bachelors or Masters degree, or 0+ years with a PhD
  • Experience with adherent and suspension cell cultures, preferably mammalian and insect backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize scientific results


Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with adherent and suspension cell lines in an antibiotic free environment.
  • Familiarity of fluorescence-based assay technology
  • Experience with immunoassays
