Position Summary:

This position is responsible for all aspects of application hosting in AWS and in “on prem” datacenters. The role is to perform the day to day management, administration, and implementation of applications. This involves automating the provisioning of all AWS infrastructure as code using technologies such as AWS CloudFormation, OpsWorks, etc. This person also ensures that key aspects of the operational implementation such as multi-region, multi-AZ high availability, auto-scaling, security, encryption, backups, tagging, data lifecycle, and version control are executed in accordance with best practices. Additionally, this resource works closely with developers on application migrations into AWS and also ongoing support of the operational environment.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree – Information Systems, Computer Science or related field

3 - 5 years of IT Experience

Requires effective, verbal and written communication skills Has proven knowledge of technical concepts, best practices, and procedures required to support EBusiness and other web applications Works with the team to establish SOPs (standard operating procedures) for all hosting initiatives Resolves hosting problems and improves hosting processes by collaborating with customers (internal & external), colleagues, and other functional teams. Participates in large projects as needed to support EBusiness and other supported web properties Participates in architecture & design meetings Demonstrates ability to handle multiple tasks, effectively direct the work of others, and adapt to changing priorities Demonstrates ability to manage large projects/initiatives including project estimation, project planning, resource planning, project budget control and successful completion.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

Automation of operational tasks such as software configuration, server scaling and deployments, and database setups in multiple AWS cloud environments with the use of modern applications. Configuration management tools (e.g. Jenkins, Chef, Puppet), AWS tools (e.g. Cloudformation, Opsworks, Ansible, Kubernetes) Evaluation, build and/or configure tools for internal use to support software engineering best practices Strong developed LAMP & Tomcat Java experience. Standardization, automation and document setup of development and production environments Creation of system support documents, operational run books, and build recipes for server configuration Deployment of code across multiple servers effortlessly Drive improvements to our build and release scripts, tools, and processes Must have knowledge of technical concepts, best practices and procedures required to support EBusiness and other web applications Resolves problems and improves business processes by collaborating with customers (internal & external), colleagues, and other functional teams Demonstrates ability to handle multiple tasks, effectively direct the work of others, and adapt to changing priorities
