Field Application Specialist - Cell Culture - Remote/Field Based

Key Responsibilities:

· Support Sales Process for BioProduction cell culture media and cell line products and services.

  • Work/Travel with the broader Industrial and BioProduction account managers. Establish relationships with customers in assigned geographic territory.
  • Responsible for providing, in a timely and professional manner, all technical activities to contribute to the success of the business working closely with his/her corresponding Key Account Manager
  • Establish technical credibility with target clients; engage technical dialog with clients with scientific background.
  • Identify pain points and generate solutions or potential projects for clients.
  • Work with internal R&D teams as appropriate
  • Provide project scope transfer to the operational team.
  • Participate in the project team meetings.
  • Become a strong internal Voice of Customer
  • Responsible for performing Implementation Programs to ensure that the solution reaches maximum capacity smoothly at customer lab within a satisfactory time.

· Representing BioProduction Services/BioProduction Products in Scientific Forums

  • Presenting BioProduction Services/BioProduction Products at conferences and local customer seminars
  • Attend and actively participate in technical conference to provide Thermo Fisher’s visibility in the market.
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date technical expertise on products and industry trends

· Participation in the Scientific, Regulatory/Quality, Marketing and general development of the BioProduction business.

  • Responsible for maintaining up to date technical expertise on products and industry trends
  • Liaising with Global Cell Culture team to contribute to quality strategies, Product development or strategic business development activities and quality or operational documentation
  • Contribute in the strategic planning and execution of new product development and launch
  • Responsible for handling customer queries/complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide feedback on technical problems and their respective solutions and share expertise & knowledge amongst the team

People Specification:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry technical experience in cell line development, cell culture and upstream processing particularly in area of therapeutic protein and vaccines.
  • Previous experience of the biopharmaceutical industry and /or GMP manufacturing.
  • Experience in interacting with external clients and ability to present technical content to small and large group of audience
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline.
  • Ph.D. degree is desirable.
  • High degree of technical competence
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex data
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel within Europe and Emerging Markets Area and internationally (including US) without restriction as required
  • Work may sometimes be necessary on evenings and weekends
  • Fluent in English
  • Knowledge of an additional European language would be advantageous
  • Full, clean driving licence
