The Position
A part of the TEM R&D organization is the Manage Sample Group. This group is responsible for Sample Manipulation (Stages), Sample Transfer (Loading, Transport), Sample Conditioning (Cryogenic), Sample Stimulation (Electrical, heating) etc.

As a Product Quality Assurance Engineer in the Manage Sample group you will be part of project teams which develop new hardware and software modules, and of the System Software Integration Team that is responsible for verification, validation and regression testing on system level. You see to it that functional and non-functional requirements are met and will initiate product and process improvements to safeguard product quality in future developments.
The Product Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for all testing activities throughout the development process. Next to that you will be conducting FMEA’s and Safety Risk Analyses, reviewing designs and specifications on quality aspects, and align exit and entry criteria with upstream and downstream projects.

Your assignment will be a mixture of the following activities:
Duties and responsibilities
  • Review requirements, User stories and software designs, and assess risks on module and system level.
  • Organize, moderate and track FMEA’s and SRA’s with a multi-disciplinary, project ascending scope.
  • Definition of reliability targets, define reliability budget breakdown
  • Train colleagues on DfR, involve suppliers in DfR
  • Write test plans, test designs and test cases, covering functional, life time and reliability tests (including Test to Failure, Hass and HALT tests)
  • Execute or supervise the execution of manual and automated tests, analyze test results and write clear progress and recommendation reports to the project’s stakeholders.
  • Chase and support problem solving by software and hardware engineers. Determine Physics of Failure.
  • Maintain the test environment for various modules in the Manage Sample domain.
  • Assure proper alignment of entry and exit quality criteria with adjacent projects.
  • Initiate and support product and process quality improvements.
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
  • Technical Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic, Mechanical or System Engineering or Applied Physics.
  • Experience with monitoring and improving product quality in ongoing developments.
  • Thorough understanding of development and test processes, methodologies and standards, preferably underpinned by an ISTQB certification.
  • Affinity with reliability testing and statistics.
  • Affinity with cryo systems and or mechatronics is a pre.
  • Hands-on approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Structured way of working.
  • Driven to get results within project timelines with a proven quality-, cost- and time-focus.
