Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for the management of our Supply Chain – Distribution Ops Finance team. This team provides financial support and oversight for CCG’s North American Distribution operation. The position leads all facets of this group which includes monthly close responsibilities, Financial Planning and Analysis and Initiative Development and Tracking.

This position will work with a diverse group of business partners (across multiple functions within Group, Thermo Fisher and externally) to drive cost savings, ensure consistency, and develop meaningful analysis in our Supply Chain operations.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Management Oversight and People Development
    • Provide day-to-day management oversight and direction for all tasks and activities of the Distribution Finance Staff
    • Complete management reviews and actively develop team members
    • Recruit, develop, and train team members
    • Participate in defining strategy and goals of the team
    • Consult and influence results to drive actions in a matrixed environment
  • Produce monthly reporting and analysis for the operations team and executive management
    • Provide insights, analysis and improvement opportunities
    • Guide, direct and develop insightful, action oriented reporting tools
  • Manage the monthly close process following all Thermo Fisher and external accounting requirements
    • Oversee timely close, reporting and analysis on monthly basis
    • Drive monthly variance analysis for explanations and solutions
  • Drive the AOP and Quarterly Forecast processes
    • Own coordination of finance staff and operating partners to accomplish accurate detailed forecast
  • Help identify and develop tracking methodology for initiatives
    • Partner with supply chain operators and project managers to develop a pipeline of improvement projects across the network
    • Deliver financial benefit tracking to support accomplished projects
  • Consolidate Group Global Supply Chain results and prepare monthly leadership reporting
    • MBR/QBR preparation and variance analysis
    • KPIs and Productivity bowlers

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • MBA/CPA is preferred
  • Strong written communication skills, along with clear and concise verbal skills, are required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to obtain operational buy-in with easy to understand analysis and presentations with the ability to engage in communication at the executive level
  • The ability to recruit, develop, and manage professional teams and the ability to provide constructive feedback through performance and development processes
  • Proven history of leading cross functional teams as well as the ability to build organizational relationships with customers, peers and operating partners
  • It is required that the candidate has the ability to manage multiple assignments, has good judgment, and prioritizes projects and time effectively
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint are required; skills with Oracle, COGNOS and Hyperion are strongly preferred
  • Candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: financial reporting, internal control, forecasting, analysis, and technical accounting knowledge
  • The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership, initiative, and embrace the Thermo Fisher Scientific 4-I values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
  • Strong business and industry knowledge as well as the ability to make logical assumptions, identify trends, incorporate external and internal information, draw conclusions from ambiguous data, and effectively benchmark results against appropriate baselines
  • The ability to identify and champion process improvements and problem solving through Practical Process Improvement (PPI Business Systems)
  • Proven experience consulting with business operating partners to influence and drive results in a matrixed environment

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • 5+ years Operations Improvement, Financial Analysis, or Distribution Operations experience
  • 3+ years project management or supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or other relevant background
