Job Description

In this role you will lead the Christchurch Production and Warehouse to effectively and efficiently complete the day-to-day manufacturing activities safely and in conformance with standard operating procedures, and cGMP/ISO principles on time and within budgets. This requires ownership and responsibility for sourcing of raw materials, conversion to finished/intermediate products and timely supply to meet or exceed customer quality and lead time expectations and business financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and report on the Christchurch site manufacturing deliverables and objectives
  • On-going development of the manufacturing team through coaching and skills development to support achievement of objectives, personal development and change management
  • Coordinate workload and workflow of required tasks across the manufacturing team
  • Act as delegate to the Manufacturing Manager as required
  • Take a hands on and team approach to completion of required tasks
  • Support and maintain compliance to ISO9001, regulatory requirements and current good manufacturing practices (cGMP).


  • Proactive approach to maintenance of the QMS
  • Attention to documentation associated with all aspects of the manufacturing processes
  • Support and contribute to our quality systems including change controls, deviations, customer notifications, SOP and BMR updates
  • Develop, report and deliver on manufacturing metrics
  • Train others in manufacturing systems and documentation
  • Champion and participate effectively in process improvement and PPI teams and complete any assigned actions.
  • Complete other activities that support maintaining and improving manufacturing processes and systems
  • Drive ownership and empowerment through the manufacturing team to assure engagement
  • Observe all safety rules which are established to maintain safe work practices, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct proactive hazard identification and report any accidents, incidents and near misses

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary Science qualification
  • Experience working in a cGMP/ISO environment in a manufacturing role
  • Experience with and high level of understanding of ISO9001 quality systems and principles
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, quality and inventory systems
  • Experience in leadership and team development
  • Experience with large scale technical manufacturing processes e.g. chromatography and filtration supported by a scientific understanding of these processes
