The Thermo Fisher Scientific HPLC business has been setting decisive and innovative trends for many years in the development, manufacturing and marketing of instruments and software for High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The expertise of our highly qualified staff contributes significantly to our economic success, enabling us to continuously expand our site in Germering near Munich.

Supervisor Procurement (f/m)

Position Summary:
The Supervisor Procurement leads the Procurement Team, which is part of the Procurement & Master Planning department. Owns and understands the comprehensive tactical functions of supplier management, material supply, data parameter set up and maintenance, forecasting and KPI reporting. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises good judgment within generally defined practices and policies when selecting methods for acquiring solutions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Disciplinary lead of the Procurement team
  • Responsibility for important suppliers
  • Proactive escalation of material shortages including action plan to drive resolution
  • Inventory optimization for raw material
  • Review and optimization of material planning parameters
  • Improving the procurement process and establishing standard work
  • Responsibility for the content of several Tier Boards
  • Participation in every aspect of procurement related meetings e.g. New Product, Supplier Changes, Quality issues
  • Lead or participant in projects to improve the supply chain
  • Building robust supplier relationships to minimize disruptive events from a material supply standpoint
  • Constantly improve clarity in communication including actively collecting feedback from suppliers
  • Participate in Supplier Business Reviews to lead discussion on On Time Dellivery & proactive supplier communication (from supplier to us if there are challenges)
  • Establishing and maintaining Reviews and KPIs
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, with studies in Business, Operations, Supply Chain with a minimum of 5 years of material and production planning experience preferred or a minimum of 7 years equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel with advanced data analytics experience.
  • ERP experience a must, SAP and Navision a plus.
  • Experience working in Lean Environment and applies lean principles
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)
  • Selfstarter
  • with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
  • with a strong Team Focus perspective
  • Excellent time Management skills, used to work with tight Deadlines
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset
