Job Description

Supporting the Director of Supply Chain with the creation and management of daily order schedules, plans, and strategy for Supply Chain and monitor/report its progress. Expedite continuous improvement, process optimisation and key projects around business processes and reducing waste within the value stream. Facilitate resolution of any identified issues, by collaborating with the appropriate department/person on a daily basis. The Senior Business Scheduling and Process Optimisation Lead will establish and manage a Supply Chain forecast awareness processes which links to the Operations and Finance functions.

  • Create a ‘Control Tower’ for Supply Chain’, linking DPM’s, Inventory, OPD, Logistics and despatch to ensure 100% OTD; Develop/establish best in class ‘Performance in Initiating and Delivering (PID) clinical trials’
  • View of demand of orders from forward demand to forecasting to daily projections of the distribution operation and outcome of actual versus demand
  • Analysis of existing processes and identification of potential opportunities
  • Overview of the distribution business and facilitates a collegiate approach by bringing together dependent departments in terms of order numbers, demand, resource planning, service delivery and facilitation of issues; so that operational performance exceeds targets
  • Drive process efficiencies and reduced lead times within Supply Chain
  • Retain an objective view of the operation and act to minimise impact to clients on any process, resource or equipment issues. Act impartially and objectively to keep departments focus on output and actual service delivery, controlling conflict in demand and operational priorities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Supply Chain on business improvement projects and maintain strong communication to improve processes to avoid delays/bottlenecks. Acting as a conduit into the interlinking departments to build clear operational objectives
  • As appropriate chair daily scheduling meetings to collate information on demand both projected and actual. Triage of urgent orders and provide information out to the business on priorities to ensure achievement to plan. Report out and identify deviations from plan and rectification required
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Supply Chain of process improvement methods, productivity, quality and visual management boards
  • Update the Director of Supply Chain on a daily basis with operational progress, risks to plan and planned improvements
  • To undertake ad-hoc duties as directed and agreed with the manager
