Division Summary:

The Anatomical Pathology Division (APD) provides laboratories with the broadest portfolio of instrument and consumable solutions, from specimen collection and grossing to advanced staining and cover slipping. The Division generates $400MM in annual revenue and has 1,500 employees in 13 countries. The anatomical pathology product line includes Richard Allan Scientific, Erie Scientific, Microm, Shandon, and Lab Vision.

Position Summary:

  • Perform incoming raw material, pre-production, DHR review, in-process and post-production inspections as a primary functions.
  • Maintain inspection forms, records and logs.
  • Identify, assess using risk-based approach and report non-conformance material or processes with the appropriate means.
  • Review quarantined consumables report and ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain the Dock-to-Stock program for incoming materials.
  • Maintain the 5S program in the inspector’s area.
  • Execute attention to detail when reviewing manufacturing documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement team (Practical Process Improvement) activities and projects.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures (safety, regulatory, etc.).
  • Perform assigned tasks to support objectives of team, department and company.
    • Temporary transfer to another department may be necessary to support team, department and company objectives.
    • Mandatory overtime may be required to support team, department and company objectives.
    • Voluntary overtime may be required to support team, department and company objectives.
  • Ensure team maintains focus and build “teamwork” within the work place.
  • Ensure team complies with safety and regulatory requirements.
    • Wear proper PPE as required by Thermo Fisher Scientific safety policy.
    • Exercise proper lifting, bending and twisting techniques.
    • Ensure team maintains a safe, organized and clean work area.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly
  • Proficient in MS applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude
  • Ability and willingness to learn basic laboratory testing procedures
  • Familiarity with Quality Systems Regulations 21CFR part 820
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • ISO 13485 knowledge preferred
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English
