Job Description
We have an outstanding opportunity in Fremont, California for a Senior Product Manager in our Drugs of Abuse Testing Business. In this role, you will have the opportunity to set the strategic vision, and tactical implementation to grow the Drugs of Abuse Testing business, for our on-market products, development of innovative product pipeline, and identification of new market opportunities. This role is highly collaborative, and works closely with Global, Regional and Country leaders to achieve business goals. You will play a key role in the development of the 5-year Strategic Plan, to grow the business!

What Will You Do?

In this role, you will have the opportunity to identify new products within the Drugs of Abuse Testing Business for the company to develop that will meet new market demands, and create new markets. To carry out the vision, you will oversee, and own the development, and direct execution of the upstream stages of insight, and concept, including identification of unmet market needs, market trends, customer segmentation for new product development, and creation of the business case. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop business cases for new product concepts, and provide leadership to the product development team, and ultimately launch new products, and "market on-market" products that will grow the business.

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we approach our business collaboratively, which means you will work directly with Research and Development, Sales, Operations, Finance, Quality, and Regulatory to accomplish key milestones, as well as direct, and lead cross-functional teams throughout the product development cycle (e.g. developing customer requirements).



How Will You Get There?
  • Bachelor’s degree required; BS/BA in Life Sciences preferred. MBA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in Product Management or Marketing in clinical diagnostics, medical device, biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and profit targets demonstrating aggressive growth.
  • Proven track record of delivering technical products in a fast paced regulated environment
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to sell your vision with the technical knowledge to be credible with customers and development.

  • Up to 25% travel required (both domestic and international)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
