We have an outstanding opportunity in Fremont, CA for a Senior Product Manager in our Drugs of Abuse Testing Business. In this role, you will have the opportunity to set the strategic vision and tactical implementation to grow the Drugs of Abuse Testing business for our on-market products, development of innovative product pipeline, and identification of new market opportunities. This role is highly collaborative and works closely with Global, Regional and Country leaders to achieve business goals. You will play a key role in the development of the 5-year Strategic Plan to grow the business!


Responsibility Overview:

  • Identify new products to be developed to meet new market demands, and creation of new markets.
  • Manage the development of and direct the execution of the upstream stages of insight and concept including identification of unmet market needs, market trends, customer segmentation for new product development and creation of the business case.
  • Develop business case for new product concepts, and provide leadership to product development team. Launch new products and market on-market products to grow business.
  • Develop and implement marketing plan for the Drugs of Abuse Testing business. This includes definition of and segmentation of the market, targeting and positioning, and all aspects of the marketing mix (product, place/distribution, price, and integrated marketing/promotion).
  • Achieve revenue and EBITA targets for the Drugs of Abuse Testing business. Work closely with Sales and Regional Marketing teams to provide needed marketing initiatives and sales support to achieve financial goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities through expansion of existing products into new geographies or market segments, or enhancements of existing products to maximize opportunities.
  • Provide direction and input cross functionally with Research and Development, Sales, Operations, Finance, Quality, and Regulatory.
  • Direct and lead cross-functional teams throughout the product development cycle (e.g. developing customer requirements)
  • Build networks and success through a deep understanding of cultural diversity and varying global market dynamics.
  • Identify and direct market research for new product concepts. Responsible for voice of the customer.
  • Direct post launch marketing activities for new products. Develop and implement marketing plans to support on-market products.
  • Monitor and assess competition.
  • Build and leverage existing Key Opinion Leader relationships to grow the business.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners
  • Lead, coach, mentor, train and provide direction and support to Marketing personnel, including peers and subordinates, encouraging effective teamwork and positive relationships with other functional areas.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; BS/BA in Life Sciences preferred. MBA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in Product Management or Marketing in clinical diagnostics, medical device, biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and profit targets demonstrating aggressive growth.
  • Proven track record of delivering technical products in a fast paced regulated environment
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to sell your vision with the technical knowledge to be credible with customers and development.

  • Up to 25% travel required (both domestic and international)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
